Boundary Relocation and Stopped Roads

Summary of Decisions Requested in Submissions to Proposed Variation 117 to the Proposed District Plan 2000 – Boundary Relocation and Stopped Roads.

The Proposed Variation amends Chapter 23 Rule 23.8.15.4(b) relating to boundary relocation to ensure that sites used in boundary relocations are in fact capable of practically accommodating a dwelling. By including a minimum building area that is free of the yard requirements, this will ensure impractical small and oddly shaped sites will not be used as a basis for boundary relocation.

The Proposed Variation was publicly notified on Tuesday,15 July 2008 with the period for receipt of submissions closing on Monday, 18 August 2008.

The Council has received submissions to the above mentioned Proposed Variation.

A summary of the decisions requested in these submissions is now available for public inspection at the Council’s offices at 50 Centreway Road, Orewa; Baxter Street, Warkworth; State Highway 16, Huapai; and Commercial Road, Helensville; and at all public libraries in Rodney District at any time when the above places are open to the public. Enquiries relating to the submissions should, in the first instance
be made to Sue Healy at the Rodney District Council, Environmental Policy and Planning Department, Centreway Road, Orewa, (phone 0800 426 5169).

Any person may make a further submission in support of, or in opposition to, any of the submissions made.
