Rodney District Council plans to have discussions with residents in the Kumeu - Huapai areas about how the towns should develop in the future.
A broad Land Use Concept Plan was prepared in 2005 as part of the Kumeu - Huapai Central Area Plan to guide development in Kumeu and Huapai, following consultation with local residents.
A more detailed Land Use Concept Plan will now be developed to provide more detail and specifically identify areas where proposed residential or commercial development could occur.
Consultation on the detailed Land Use Concept Plan will be undertaken in early 2009 with residents in Kumeu and Huapai areas through a Planning Forum, which will also address other planning issues relevant to this area.
Once the final form of the plan has been decided, changes to the District Plan would then need to be publicly notified before the ideas set out in the plan could be implemented.
