Liquor Ban Bylaw Two new liquor ban areas at the Old Cement Works and Wilson Road in Warkworth and Lake Tomarata in Mangawhai were introduced on 9 December 2009 as a result of a review of the Council's Liquor Ban bylaw.
The bylaw also has bans in place in a number of other areas.
The revised bylaw was consulted on during September and October and 41 submissions were received on the proposal. All of the submissions received supported the bylaw and the proposed new liquor ban areas. Some of the times liquor bans are in place in different areas have also changed recently.
Signs have been erected showing where liquor bans are in force and what times they are operating.
Under the existing liquor ban bylaw, liquor bans will continue to be in force in a number of other areas in Rodney. These areas are parts of Omaha, Muriwai, Orewa, Warkworth, Red Beach, Stanmore Bay, Manly, Arkles Bay, Whangaparaoa, Snells Beach, Algies Bay, Martins Bay, Wellsford, Te Arai Point Beach, Helensville and RDC Holiday Parks at Martins Bay and Orewa.
Liquor bans have been put in place at the request of local communities. Please help keep our communities safe by respecting liquor ban areas and remaining alcohol free at times when bans are in force.
Enforcement The enforcement of the liquor ban bylaw is the responsibility of the NZ Police. If you are concerned that a liquor ban is not being observed please contact your local police station or in an emergency dial 111 and report this so that they can investigate this. Please do not endanger your safety by attempting to enforce the liquor ban yourself.
