Pursuant to Section 22 (2) of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977. The Principal Rural Fire Officer for the Rodney District Council gives notice to the public that the Prohibited Fire Season has been lifted and a Restricted Fire Season allowing fires by way of Fire Permit shall apply across the Rodney District from midday on 27 February 2009 and unless further public notice is given until midday on 31 March 2009.
Traditional or ethnic cooking fires, gas fuelled barbecues and gas cookers are exempt from this notice.
FIRES on BEACHES
Fires cannot be lit on beaches at any time.
This includes bonfires.
