Pursuant to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, notice is given that the Rodney District Council, for the purpose of the 2009 Christmas Parades in Orewa Town Centre, Helensville Town Centre, Wellsford Town Centre, Warkworth Town Centre and Kumeu Town Centre, proposes to close the following road to ordinary vehicular traffic for the period indicated hereunder.
Orewa
Roads proposed to be closed: Orewa - Alice Avenue, Edward Avenue and Moenui Road (these proposed road closures are for the floats to assemble and disassemble. Both roads will be shown as "No Parking").
Period of proposed closure: Saturday 21 November 2009 - 7:00am to 2:00pm.
Roads proposed to be closed: Orewa - Florence Avenue, Centreway Road (between Florence Avenue to Moana Avenue), Moana Avenue, Bakehouse Lane, Tamariki Avenue then back to Centreway Road (between Tamariki Avenue and Moenui Avenue).
Period of proposed closure: Saturday 21 November 2009 - 10:00am to 3:00pm
Marshalls will be in place to assist the public and traffic at all times. Roads involved will be reopened as the parade progresses.

Helensville
Roads proposed to be closed: Helensville - Commercial Road (from Puriri Road to Garfield Road) Bridge Street, Railway Street and West Street.
Period of proposed closure: Saturday 5 December 2009 - 11:30am to 12:40pm
Appropriate detour routes will be provided. Stop/go traffic control will be implemented on Railway Street at the intersection of Commercial Road and Garfield Road and at the intersection of Awaroa Road and Bridge Road.
Parade Start: 12:00pm, West Street
Wellsford
Roads proposed to be closed: Wellsford - Rodney Street (State Highway 1) from Centennial Road to Mathesons Road.
Period of road closure: Saturday 28 November 2009 - 11:30am to 12:30pm
Detours will be via Centennial Road.
Roads proposed to be closed: Wellsford - Station Road. This road is closed for the floats to assemble and disassemble.
Period of proposed closure: Saturday 28 November 2009 - 9:30am to 12:30pm
Parade Start: 11:30am, Station Road.
Kumeu
Roads proposed to be closed: Kumeu - Road closure is between Riverhead Road to Matua road on State highway 16. Northbound traffic will be detoured from State highway 16. Turn right into Riverhead road, left into Koraha Road, left into Oraha Road, right into Matua Road, back onto State Highway 16. Southbound traffic shall operate in the reverse order. Police to be stationed at Station Road/Trigg road and Access Road.
Period of proposed closure: 11 December 2009 - 6:45am to 8:30pm
Parade Starts: 7:00pm, Station Road
Warkworth
Roads proposed to be closed: Warkworth - Queen Street to Mill Lane, Neville Street from Town Hall to Baxter Street, Wharf Street, Kapuni Street.
Period of proposed closure: 5 December 2009 - 12:30pm to 2:00pm.
Parade Starts: 1:00pm, Alwick Street.
During the proposed period of closure, the event organisers will station representatives at each end of the roads to explain the situation to road users and offer assistance for detour routes.
Any person objecting to this proposal is called upon to lodge notice of his/her objection and the grounds thereof in wiring before 5:00pm Friday, 30 October 2009 to the Rodney District Councils Events Administrator.
