Public Notice of Proposed Plan Change/Variation 131 to The Rodney District Proposed District Plan 2000 - Rezoning of land for Industrial Purposes at Silverdale
Note: This notice should be read in conjunction with the
Public Notice by the ARC of Proposed Plan Change 16 to the Auckland Regional Policy Statement to shift the Metropolitan Urban Limit.
The Rodney District Council has prepared the above Plan Change/Variation to the Rodney District Proposed District Plan 2000:
Explanation
This Plan Change/Variation alters the Rodney District Plan 2000- Operative in Part by rezoning an area of land Industrial at Peters Way, Silverdale. It is currently zoned Countryside Living Rural. The addition is approximately 8 hectares in area.
The Proposed Variation includes a number of additional site specific rules for the area to be rezoned. These include rules and assessment criteria regarding landscaping, building colour and earthworks, in order to reduce the visual impact of future development on adjoining sites.
The proposal may be inspected at Council’s offices at 50 Centreway Road, Orewa, Baxter Street, Warkworth; State Highway 16, Huapai; and Commercial Road, Helensville, and all Rodney District Council Public libraries; at any time when the above places are open to the public, as well as on Council’s website under ‘Planning and Development’,

Any person may make a submission on the proposal. You may do so by sending a written submission to: Rodney District Council, Private Bag 500, OREWA, Attention: Environmental Policy and Planning. The submission must be on Form 5 and must state whether or not you wish to be heard on your submission. Copies of this form are available from the Council offices listed above and on
Council’s website.
Submissions close on Friday 23 July 2010.
The process for public participation in the consideration of the proposal under the Act is as follows:
• After the closing date for submission, Rodney District Council must prepare a summary of the decisions requested in submissions and this summary must be publicly notified
• There must be an opportunity to make a further submission in support of, or in opposition to, the submissions already made
• If a person making a submission asks to be heard in support of his or her submission, a hearing must be held
• Rodney District Council must give its decision on the proposal (including its reasons for accepting or rejecting submissions)
• Any person who has made a submission has the right to appeal the decision on the proposal to the Environment Court.
