Proposed Speed Limits Changes

In accordance with the “Setting of Speed Limits 2003: Rule 54001” and Rodney District Council’s General Bylaw 1998 Chapter 18 Road Speed Limits, herewith is the ‘Public Notified Resolution’ as approved by Rodney District Council on 17 December 2009.

That the proposed road speed limit amendments to General Bylaw, 1998 Chapter 18 – Road Speed Limits shown in section 3.1 of the GHD report “Report for Rodney District 2009 Speed Limit Review – October 2009” attached as Appendix 1 to the agenda report, be approved.

And

That the proposed amendments to General Bylaw, 1998 Chapter 18 – Road Speed Limits set out in Schedules 1 – 4 and Map numbers RDC 17690 – 1 to 23, 24A (deletions struck through), 25 – 26, attached as Appendix 2 to the agenda report, be adopted and public consultation proceed under Section 82 of the Local Government Act 2002, and in accordance with Land Transport Rule 54001 – Setting of Speed Limits 2003.

The outcome from submissions will be reported back to the Council during April 2010 with final amendments to General Bylaw 1998, Chapter 18 - Road Speed Limits for confirmation to a future Council meeting.

Any person objecting to the proposed new speed limits is called upon to lodge a notice of objection in writing together with reasons for the objections before 4.00pm Friday, 5 March 2010, to the Manager: Transport Operations and Safety, Rodney District Council, Private Bag 500, Orewa.
