RDC Appoints New Director Customer Service

Lloyd Barton has been appointed as Rodney District Council’s new Director of Customer Service.

“As Director Customer Service, Lloyd’s key responsibilities include libraries, leisure centre, visitor information centres, customer and visitor reception, call centre, resource and building consents, bylaws, monitoring and compliance, community development and emergency management,” says Rodney District Council chief executive Rodger Kerr-Newell.

Mr Barton first worked for RDC back in 1990, when he joined the Council as a Development Planner. This has lead on to a 17 year career in local government, where he filled various roles in resource management and customer service with Auckland City, North Shore City and Rodney District Councils.

“Lloyd has been Acting Director Customer Service since June this year. Prior to this, he was Manager, Resource Management for just over four years,” Mr Kerr-Newell added. 

“In this role he led a comprehensive redesign of resource consent processes and team structure, resulting in significant improvements in customer services delivery.

“I am confident Lloyd will be able to use the skills and experience he has gained during his career to lead and motivate RDC’s Customer Service team in helping meet and satisfy the wide ranging needs of our customers.”
