PURSUANT to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, notice is given that the Rodney District Council proposes to close the following roads to ordinary vehicular traffic for the period indicated hereunder for the purpose of The 2008 Christmas Parades in Orewa Town Centre, Helensville Town Centre and Wellsford Town Centre.
Roads proposed to be closed – Orewa: Alice Avenue, Edward Avenue and Moenui Road.
Period of proposed closure: Saturday, 22 November 2008 – 7:00am to 2:00pm.
(These proposed road closures are for the floats to assemble and disassemble. Both roads will be shown as ‘No Parking’).
Roads proposed to be closed – Orewa: Florence Avenue, Centreway Road (between Florence Avenue to Moana Avenue), Moana Avenue, Bakehouse Lane, Tamariki Avenue then Centreway Road (between Tamariki Avenue & Moenui Avenue).
Period of proposed closure: Saturday, 22 November 2008 – 10:00am until 2:00pm.
(Marshals will be in place to assist public and traffic at all times. Roads involved will be reopened as the parade progresses).
Roads proposed to be closed – Helensville: Commercial Road (from Puriri Road to Garfield Road ) and Bridge Street,Railway Street, and West Street.
Period of proposed closure: Saturday, 6 December 2008 – 12:30pm to 3:00pm.
(Appropriate detour routes will be provided. Stop/go traffic control will be implemented on Railway Street at the intersection of Commercial Road and Garfield Road, and at the intersections of Awaroa Road and Bridge Street).
Roads proposed to be closed – Wellsford: Rodney Street (State Highway 1) from Centennial Park Road to Matheson Road.
Period of proposed closure: Saturday, 29 November 2008 – 11:30am to 12:30pm.
(Detours will be in place via Centennial Park Road).
During the proposed period of closure the event organisers will station representatives at each end of the road to explain the situation to road users and offer assistance for detour routes. Any person objecting to this proposal is called upon to lodge notice of his/her objection and the grounds thereof in writing before 5.00pm Thursday, 13 November 2008 to the Rodney District Councils Events Administrator.
