Opie Contractors have been engaged by the Rodney District Council to undertake shoulder widening work along Mahurangi East Road in Snells Beach (from Sandspit Road to James Road). The road will be maintained to allow two traffic lanes in each direction at all times possible; however the speed limit will be reduced to 50km when the contractors are working for their safety. If lane closures are required these will only be implemented between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00pm when there would be least disruption to traffic.
Driveway access will be maintained for the residents who live within the construction area. Contractors will contact property owners at the times when driveway access may be restricted.
Project signage is to be installed at each end of the project that has the contract name, period of work, and contact details (as per below).
Contract Period
This work will commence on 10th February 2009 and will continue through to late April 2009.
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday: 7:00am to 6:00pm
Saturday: 7:00am to 2:00pm
