Summary of submissions to Cultural Heritage Plan Change

Summary of Decisions Requested in Submissions to Proposed Plan Change 135 To The Rodney District Plan 2000 – Operative In Part – Cultural Heritage Appendix 17B and Planning Maps

The purpose of this Plan Change is to make a number of amendments in Chapter 17 Cultural Heritage. These are specifically to Appendix 17B – Historic Structures, Sites and Fixed Objects Listed for Protection and the related planning maps.

The need for these amendments dates back to the drafting of the Proposed District Plan 2000. They relate to where:

• A heritage item is shown incorrectly on planning maps (shown on wrong site)
• A heritage item is not shown at all on the planning maps
• The address/name/legal descriptions etc are wrong in Appendix 17B.

Most amendments involve changes to both the planning maps and changes to Appendix 17B.

The changes affect 22 items in Chapter 17 Cultural Heritage. Owners of these properties have been notified individually.

The Proposed Variation was publicly notified on 20 May 2010, with the period for receipt of submissions closing on 18 June 2010.

The Council has received submissions to the above mentioned Proposed Variation 135. A summary of the decisions requested in these submissions is now available for public inspection.

greater than the interest than the general public has
