Upcoming Events at Rodney Libraries
Rodney Libraries have a variety of fun events on offer over the next few weeks.
All Rodney Libraries will be running special Christmas storytime sessions. The sessions are aimed at primary and pre school age children and involve storytelling, rhymes and Christmas carols. Children are being encouraged to dress up in festive themed costumes for the sessions.
Last month saw the launch of new ‘Wriggle & Rhyme” Active Movement sessions for pre school children at all Rodney Libraries and the sessions will continue to run on a weekly basis. The last sessions for 2009 will run during the week of the 14 – 18 December and the programme will then break for the summer and return once school commences in early February.
These fun sessions with music aim to encourage children to be physically active and are targeted at babies to two year olds, however older pre school children are also welcome to attend. The sessions are organised by SPARC (Sport and Recreation NZ), with support from Rodney Libraries.
Normal storytime sessions will keep operating over the summer at most libraries, except during the period between Christmas and New Year.
Rodney Libraries are also running a Summer Reading Programme for children aged between 5 and 13 during December and January.
