During July and August, Rodney Libraries will be hosting children’s theatre company Starfish Magic for a series of free performance workshops for children aged 3 - 10. It’s an opportunity for children to dress up in costumes and sing and dance as part of a live interactive show.
July 30 is National Poetry Day and Wellsford and Mahurangi East libraries are both hosting special events to mark this day.
The Rodney Libraries Teen Reading Challenge continues during July and August. The challenge is to read five books across a range of literary genres by the end of September. Participants who complete the challenge will go into the draw to win an iPod and other prizes.
In August Whangaparaoa library is looking forward to hosting workshops for children aged 8 – 16 on story writing and illustrating as part of the storylines festival.
Storytime, Rhymetime and Wriggle and Rhyme sessions also continue at Rodney libraries. Further information about library activities and events is available online.
