Orewa Top Ten Holiday Park

Qualmark Rating: 4 Star Holiday Park 

The Orewa Top Ten Holiday Park is situated 35km north of central Auckland City, fronting Orewa Beach and is an ideal holiday location for families.

How to get there
Heading north from Auckland, take the Silverdale exit (398) from the motorway.   

Activities
Activities include swimming (close to surf club patrolled area), boating, fishing, windsurfing and golf (including the international course at Gulf Harbour).  The park is located close to restaurants, shopping, mini golf, Snowplanet, Auckland Luge, Go-Karts and Waiwera Thermal Spa Resort.

Two regional parks are located close by with their pleasant scenic walks and picnic areas.
 
Facilities
Facilities include children's adventure playground, covered BBQ area, boat ramp, basketball pad, kayaks, TV lounge, games room, email, fax and public phone.
 
There are facilities for the elderly and people with a disability. They are also able to accommodate large groups.
 
Linen can be supplied for the cabins and is supplied with the tourist flats.
 
Accommodation includes 300 camp sites, 15 cabins and 4 tourist flats.  Off season and group discounts available.

Martins Bay Holiday Park

Qualmark Rating: 3 star plus Holiday Park

The Martins Bay Holiday Park is situated on the beachfront at Martins Bay overlooking the Mahurangi Peninsula.

How to get there 
The Holiday Park is approximately 15km from Warkworth, just past Snells Beach village.

Turn off State Highway 1 at Warkworth (right at the second traffic lights if travelling from the south or left at the first traffic lights if travelling from the north). Take the right-hand road to Snells Beach. Travel through Snells Beach village past the shopping centre. Continue past the turn off to Algies Bay on Mahurangi Road, continuing along Martins Bay Rd to the beach.

Activities
Activities include fishing, swimming, sailing and bush walks.  It's only a short drive to Sandspit for scenic trips to historical Kawau Island.

Facilities 
Facilities include children’s playground, covered BBQ area, boat/tractor park, boat ramp, fish cleaning area and holiday programmes.
 
There are also facilities for the elderly and people with disability.
 
Accommodation includes 220 powered camp sites, three tourist cabins and two standard cabins.  Off season and group discounts available.

Cabins are standard cabins and linen and blankets are not provided. Cabins include: double bed, double bunk, table and chairs and TV and a heater will be provided on request. Tourist flats are fully self contained.

Whangateau Holiday Park

Qualmark rating:  4 star holiday park

The Whangateau Holiday Park is a family-orientated park situated 18km from Warkworth, right on the water’s edge overlooking Whangateau Harbour, across from Omaha.
 
How to get there
Turn off State Highway 1 at Warkworth (right at the second traffic lights if travelling from south, or left at the first traffic lights if travelling from the north). Take the left hand road to Leigh (Matakana Rd). Matakana Rd changes to Leigh Rd at Matakana. Continue along Leigh Rd until you get to Whangateau.

Activities
The Holiday Park is a great base to visit the nearby Goat Island/Cape Rodney Marine Reserve (popular for diving and snorkelling), the Matakana Wine Trail and farmers markets.
 
The park is a short drive to Sandspit for scenic trips to Kawau Island.
 
Facilities
Facilities include a recreation room and covered BBQ area.  Activities include swimming, fishing, kayaking, sailing and native bird watching.
 
Adjacent to large open space reserve with sportsfield, playground, bush walk and high tide boat ramp.
 
Accommodation includes 80 powered camp sites, 4 cabins and 2 onsite caravans.  The holiday park is a great location for a school camp, particularly for marine studies.

Shelly Beach Camp Ground

Shelly Beach Camp Ground is located on the shores of the historical Kaipara Harbour, 20 minutes/24km from Helensville and has one of the few access points for boat launching.

Activities
Playground, wharf, boat ramp and great fishing and only 22km to Parakai hot mineral pools and 24km to South Head.

Facilities
The camp has 10 hard stand powered sites for campervans/caravans and 4 tent sites.
  
Public toilets, hot showers, licensed store, shop and cafe.  Camping ground has no kitchen or laundry facilities.
