Resource Consents

We’re Working to Improve our Consent Processing!
Over the past year or two we have been working hard to improve our consent processing systems.  So far the results have been positive with the Ministry for the Environment recently released a survey showing that Rodney District Council has reduced its consent processing times considerably over the past two years and we are now processing consents much faster than a number of other Councils, such as Manukau and Auckland City Councils.

We have made a number of improvements to our services including introducing a new fast track resource consent process for minor consents at a reduced cost.  And we’re always looking to see if we can improve our services further.  If you have any comments or suggestions please email us.

Do You Need A Resource Consent?

A resource consent is written permission from the council to undertake an activity on your land that does not comply with the rules of the District Plan, or is listed in the District Plan as an activity that requires a resource consent.

Preparing A Resource Consent Application

If you need to apply for a resource consent you must provide a range of stipulated information, and it should follow the format outlined in the relevant resource consent application form.
