Building consent information has moved!
You’ll find it on the Auckland Council website
Moving towards a single council
The councils in the Auckland region have been working cooperatively to move smoothly to the new Auckland Council on 1 November 2010.
That cooperation has helped us standardise Building Consent online information and produce a single set of associated forms. You can use these forms now at any local government organisation in the Auckland area.
How To Use The Manufacturers Specification List
RDC has compiled a list of manufacturers commonly used building materials and system specifications currently accepted by the Council.
If you are applying for a Building Consent, you no longer need to provide hard copies of specifications if they are on the Council’s Manufacturers’ Specification List.
Use the list to indentify specifications you will be using in your project. You will need to fill out the following form – RDC Manufacturers Specifications For Inclusion Into Building Consents and include this in your Building Consent application.
What If A Specification Is Not On The List?
If a specification you are using is not included on the Council’s list then you will be required to provide two hard copies of that specification with your Building Consent Application.
Please note: The list is not a substitute for manufacturers’ technical information
Onsite Specification Information
Builders must ensure that they have available on site, all the specification information that is part of the Building Consent. This is for reference by themselves and the Building Field Officers. The builder may need to obtain a copy of the exact version contained in the consent, from the owner, designer or manufacturer. There will not be a copy of the specifications in the owner’s copy of the Building Consent.
