At its meeting on 27 May 2004 the Council adopted the Silverdale North Structure Plan (dated May 2004). This followed hearings and deliberations on submissions by the Council’s Strategy and Policy Committee on the structure plan.
The concepts arrived at within the structure plan enable increased economic activity to occur within the area, and the application of sustainable design principles to residential development for good community and environmental outcomes through a live, work, play & learn philosophy.
The Council has resolved that the structure plan will be incorporated into the Proposed District Plan. As part of the same process a variation and plan change will be undertaken to create operative zones for the structure plan area. The zones are likely to be released in stages. The timing for the first stage of operative zones (i.e. notification of the variation) is dependent upon the Council being able to minimise the potential adverse effects on the environment of developing the Silverdale North area, through a financial contributions package (Plan Change 62), refer to Section 1.10 of the structure plan.
Hardcopies of the Silverdale North Structure Plan including supporting documents, are available for viewing at the Orewa Council Office and the Orewa Library. Copies may be purchased for $16.00. Alternatively you may download and view below.
