If the Council modifies or amends requirements under the Proposed District Plan this is called a Variation. Only the Council can initiate a Variation. All Variations are publicly notified and any person can lodge a submission in relation to a particular variation.

Proposed Variations
The Council has released the following proposed variations to the Proposed District Plan 2000.

The Local Government (Auckland) Amendment Act 2004 s39 (1) requires the Auckland local authorities to change the regional policy statement and district plans prepared under the Resource Management Act 1991 to integrate the land transport and land use provisions and make those provisions consistent with the Auckland Regional Growth Strategy.
The specific changes for the Rodney District Council are:
- Proposed Plan Change 97 to the Operative Transitional District Plan 1993 (click here)
- Proposed Variation 22 to the Proposed District Plan 2000 (see below)
