The following research together with public consultation and stakeholder feedback is to be used to help develop a long term strategy for fostering a sustainable rural economy, protecting rural landscapes and rural character, improving rural development outcomes, protecting the cultural values and future benefits of open space, and managing settlement edges and development sprawl.
Rodney District Analysis of the rural economy and lifestyle
Property Economics was engaged by Rodney District Council to undertake an assessment of Rodney District’s rural economy. The assessment was in response to the rapid changes seen in property use throughout rural parts of the district over the past ten years particularly around the rise in popularity of lifestyle block development.
