Warkworth Structure Plan

Introduction

The Warkworth community has been involved in a series of public meetings and workshops to define the future direction for the Warkworth Township.

Through this process the community provided us with their views and vision for the future. They have told us what is important about their place and what must be protected and enhanced.

These thoughts and ideas have helped shape the development of the Warkworth Structure Plan which has now been adopted by Council.

What is a Structure Plan?

Structure plans are a non-statutory planning tool. The purpose of the Warkworth Structure Plan is to define a vision for the future and plan for growth. The Warkworth Structure Plan aims to:

  • Reflect the community's vision for the future of their town
  • Set out where growth (residential, commercial, industrial, and recreational) can be accommodated and provide a staging plan for the establishment of these new areas.
  • Guide infrastructure planning for growth and development.

The Warkworth Structure Plan summary report and background report are available to down load below and can also be purchased or viewed at the Warkworth Service Centre or the main council office in Orewa.
