Kaukapakapa Structure Plan

The Kaukapakapa Structure Plan process has been reactivated. It is a community driven process designed to ensure that Kaukapakapa’s future is well planned, and reflects the community’s vision and values.

We want to know:

  • What you specifically like or dislike about Kaukapakapa?
  • How you would like to see Kaukapakapa in 10/20 years time?
  • How you think this can be achieved?
  • Your thoughts on the appropriate scale for development?
  • What you believe development should look like?
  • What you feel needs improving in Kaukapakapa?
  • What Kaukapakapa’s strengths are?
  • What you think Kaukapakapa’s important natural features are?
  • Whether having the ability to walk to the local shop is important?
  • If being able to walk to school, the local hall, or park is important to you?
  • What you think is important about Kaukapakapa’s past, and whether it should be recognized? And if so, how?

 Structure Plan Timeline   Stage
Stages 1-4 Background research / consultation / constraints and opportunities research / consultation 2 complete
Stage 5  Visioning process and development of Options – (map and explanation of rationale between options) 90% complete
Stage 6

 Option development: 
 - Council officer input
 (Stormwater, flood, wastewater)
 - Amend draft options as necessary
 - Ward Councillor review
 - Presentation to KARRA, 6 April
 - KARRA feedback - mid/late April
 - Incorporate feedback
 - Community Open Day (mid May)
 - Review and incorporate feedback
 - Obtain officer and Councillor input
 - Complete final option (June)
       

Stage 7  Structure Plan Draft Report - for consideration of the Council complete June/July
