The Mahurangi East peninsula covers an area of approximately 2,500 ha, reaching from Sandspit to Martins Bay and Scotts Landing.
The catchment study area covers approximately the eastern half of the principal Orewa River East Catchment Area.
The Stanmore Bay Catchment covers an area of 474 ha, and is located at the western end of Whangaparaoa Peninsula.
The Kumeu-Kaipara River system runs for approximately 65 km from the Waitakere Ranges to the Kaipara Harbour near Helensville.
As part of supporting growth in Matakana Village a Draft Catchment Management Plan has been developed to address the integrated management of stormwater in the village.
