The Gulf Harbour Marina at Whangaparaoa was authorised under the Rodney County Council (Gulf Harbour) Vesting and Empowering Act 1977. This Act provides for the creation of a bylaw to control activities within the Marina.
The Marina Boat Harbour is subject to all applicable NZ Maritime Rules. This chapter of the Bylaw is subject to the approval of the Minister of Maritime Transport.
This Bylaw is authorised by the Rodney District Council [Gulf Harbour] Vesting and Empowering Act 1977 and made under the Local Government Act 2002. It is not inconsistent with the Auckland Regional Council Navigation Safety Bylaws 2001.
