  • Urban areas (HBC, Warkworth, Wellsford, Leigh, Snells Beach, Helensville, Parakai, Riverhead, Waimauku, Kumeu/Huapai) receive a weekly collection
  • Rural areas receive a fortnightly collection
  • Recyclables for the blue bin include: glass bottles/jars, Al and tin cans, plastic containers grade 1-7 (squash all containers).
  • Paper and cardboard must be flattened and bound securely in bundles no larger than the blue bin
  • Place your bins and bound paper out by 9:00am on collection day
  • This service is NOT for commercial quantities of recycling; this service is the same as for households; 3 recycling bins per business plus the equivalent volume in paper

A green sticker will be placed on items that are not suitable for recycling and left in your bin, including oversized cardboard.  For information on materials that cannot be recycled please see our recycling page.

EcoBiz logoEcoBiz Programme
EcoBiz is a subsidised business partnership programme with Auckland councils which focuses on improving the environmental performance of businesses by reducing solid waste, use of energy & water and improving materials efficiency.

EcoBiz is holding a two hour free introductory workshop at the Auckland Town Hall from 4:00pm on 11 March 2010.  All business in Rodney and the Auckland area are welcome to attend. At the workshop businesses will be introduced to the four service providers EcoBiz are working with to deliver the programme:

In addition, a series of EcoBiz workshops will be available to businesses in Auckland to attend throughout the year which will inform then on practical things they can do for their business.

EcoBiz Membership
Membership to the EcoBiz programme is currently limited to 120 businesses. There will be a second round of the workshops available from September 2010, dependent on membership numbers.

The council will apply a selection process in the case of over-subscription to the programme by businesses.
