Holding a wedding ceremony on Rodney District Council land can be done but does require some permission to be arranged before-hand.
If you wish to hold a wedding in ARC Parks and Reserves you will need to contact the ARC for permission, otherwise follow the steps below to ensure your big day runs as smoothly as possible.
Booking a park for a wedding
When you decide you would like to use a park or some other land owned or operated by the Council you will need to apply for permission. Even once permission is given it does not give you exclusive use of the area, however, it will ensure that no other event will be able to use the area whilst your event is taking place. It also ensures that things like grass cutting doesn't happen at the same time.
So the first step you need to take once you have decided on a location is to make your application by filling in the Wedding Applicaton Form and returning it to us, at least 4 - 6 weeks before your wedding date.
It will take approximately 3 -4 weeks from receipt of application for your request to be processed, however, please feel free to contact us with regards to the status of your application at any time.
There are currently no charges for using the public grounds for a wedding ceremony.
*Please note while permission to hold your wedding ceremony may be given we do not give permission for wedding receptions to be held on Council owned or operated land.
