Drains and Stormwater Drain Water

With heavy rainfall, stormwater may form a pond or cause flooding temporarily until the system has been able to absorb the sudden arrival of excess surface water.

In some instances blockages of cesspit grates can occur, due to build up of rubbish and debris.

If the following occurs please contact the Council:

  • Flooding of roads from overflowing stormwater drain that is not disappearing in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Flooding from overflowing road or stormwater drains entering a dwelling or likely to enter dwelling within the next 2 hours.
  • Health and safety risk to people, property or livestock from overflowing road or stormwater drains.
