The Council spends around 48% of the total budget each year on roading. Over half of the roading network is unsealed and, for a number of reasons, construction and maintenance costs are extraordinarily high.

Over this year it is intended to:

• Perform seal extensions of 10km per year (assuming subsidies are received).
• Strengthen highly trafficked unsealed roads by additional aggregate (40km per year).
