Trade waste bylawThe Council has been talking with businesses and other interested parties to obtain their views and establish the best way of dealing with trade waste in Rodney. This included a survey of trade premises and the release of a Trade Waste Discussion Document. Following this consultation with local industries, and a submissions process, the Council at its Meeting on 26 August 2004 pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government Act 2002, adopted the Rodney District Trade Waste Bylaw 2004. The purpose of the Bylaw is to manage liquid trade waste discharged into any Council wastewater or storm water system. The Trade Waste Bylaw came into effect on 1 September 2004 and will be reviewed no later than 25 August 2009. Copies of the Bylaw are available at all Council Service Centres and Libraries. Alternatively the document can be downloaded and viewed or printed below.
