Setting Up and Growing Your Business in Rodney

Warkworth Town Centre

Rodney is an exciting place!

This beautiful district accounts for 45% of greater Auckland’s land area. We have an established tradition of rapid growth and business innovation.

Rodney District Council embraces economic development and welcomes business ventures and development proposals which will make positive contributions to our community’s economic, social and environmental future.

The local business community and the Council have worked together to articulate an economic vision for the district. This ‘Living Vision for Rodney’s Economy’ sets out the key economic goals and initiatives which are now well in progress. The Council also funds the Rodney Economic Development Trust and is an active member of the Auckland Regional Economic Development Strategy (AREDS).

We are embracing a broadband communication future so that our business community can truly ‘live, work and play’ in Rodney. The process of developing Auckland’s largest Knowledge Economy Zone (KEZ) is well advanced, and exciting developments are occurring, and being encouraged in aquaculture, horticulture, tourism, the arts and film.
