Standards for Engineering Design & Construction

The Standards for Engineering Design and Construction are intended for use by developers, contractors and consultants who are involved in the design and installation of facilities and services within the Rodney District.
 

The standards presented in this document are the minimum required to obtain Council approval for a project. Both design criteria and construction performance standards are present. This standard should be read in conjunction with the District Plan which is the controlling document empowered by the Resource Management Act 1991 (section 73). The purpose of the District Plan is to "promote the sustainable management of natural and physical resources". The Standards for Engineering Design and Construction assists in this sustainable management process and are complimentary to the District Plan.
