Algies Bay Coastal Compartment Management Plan

Looking out to Algies Bay The Algies Bay Coastal Compartment Management Plan (CCMP) is one of a series of such plans being prepared jointly by Rodney District Council (RDC) and Auckland Regional Council (ARC) for the coast.

The purpose of CCMPs is to identify significant coastal issues, including community needs, facing each community within a compartment area and to propose a series of actions to address these needs and issues over time, working with local communities, tangata whenua and other stakeholders.

The CCMPs will provide the basis for future decision-making and funding of actions within each compartment.

Summary of the Algies Bay Coastal Compartment Management Plan

This CCMP focuses on management issues relevant to Algies Bay and provides a strategic approach for addressing and funding them into the future. Consultation with the local community, tangata whenua and other stakeholders was undertaken to assist with key issues and actions.

The general management directions proposed in this CCMP are to:

The actions set out in this CCMP will be considered annually through Rodney District Council's annual planning process. This process will determine the actual timing of and funding for specific actions and will consider the actions within a District-wide context.
