Remuneration rewards

Many of our staff are eligible for a base salary market adjustment and a variable performance payment of 1-10% of base salary. Our Performance system is designed to encourage and recognise performance.

Flexible working hours

We have a flexible working hours policy, which, dependent on the nature and requirements of the role, will enable you to vary when you work your hours.

Additional annual holiday leave

Many of our staff are entitled to an additional 1 week annual holiday leave per annum.

Unlimited health leave

Health leave has an unspecified limit because we care about the wellbeing of our staff.  It’s intended to cover situations of health issues, caring for a dependant, and bereavement.

Free parking

There is free parking for all staff, either on-site or street parking.  We also have a Rideshare service, which is an easy way to find commuting partners for getting to and from work. Rideshare participants are allocated a carpool parking space. Rideshare is a great way to reduce wear-and-tear on your vehicle, make new friends, save money on petrol, reduce traffic congestion, and improve air quality.

Staff membership at The Leisure Centre

The Leisure Centre is a fantastic facility that offers a discounted membership for Rodney District Council employees.  Membership includes access to the fitness gym, cardio theatre, circuit express, swimming pool, squash courts, casual basketball and all group fitness and aquacise classes.

Staff discounts

We have many local suppliers of goods and services who provide discounts to Rodney District Council employees for a range of things from automotive work to painting and decorating accessories.

Social club

We have a great social club that puts on a variety of exciting events such as the mid-year party, sporting events, kids Christmas party and many others. 

Libraries

We have 7 libraries across the District and membership is free to all Rodney District Council employees.
