Exercising your dog is an important part of caring for your pet and there are a number of designated dog exercise areas available in the region for use.
Deciding to become a dog owner is not to be taken lightly and whilst Rodney District Council values its canine residents there are a number of things that new dog owners should consider before purchasing their dog.
Dog owners must register all dogs in their care by 1 July each year. All dogs need to be registered before they reach three months of age. Failure to do so may incur an infringement fee of $300 and/or court fine of up to $3000.
Stock refers to horses, goats, pigs, cows, sheep and a variety of other non-domestic animals including chickens and bees.
If you dog has previously been registered in the Rodney District and you have received your renewal form, you can now use your credit card to pay online.
Reporting a problem with a dog can be done both during business and after hours.
From time to time the Council has dogs suitable for adoption. Find out more about how you can adopt one of our cuddly canines.
