Rodney District (north of Auckland, New Zealand) offers excellent coastal Holiday Parks in 3 locations: Orewa, Martins Bay, Whangateau and a camping ground at Shelly Beach.

Our Holiday Parks offer powered tent/campervan/caravan sites and cabins. Orewa and Martins Bay also have self-contained tourist flats.

  • Holiday park 35km north of central Auckland City, fronting Orewa Beach. Heading north, take the Silverdale exit (398) from the motorway.
     
  • Ideal holiday location for families next to a reserve.
     
  • Activities include swimming (close to surf club patrolled area), boating, fishing, windsurfing and golf (including the international course at Gulf Harbour). 
     
  • Close to restaurants, shopping, mini golf, Snowplanet, Auckland Luge, Go-Karts and Waiwera Thermal Spa Resort.
     
  • Facilities include children's adventure playground, covered BBQ area, boat ramp, basketball pad, kayaks, TV lounge, games room, email, fax and public phone.
     
  • Two regional parks close by with their pleasant scenic walks and picnic areas.
     
  • Great base to take a trip to the Tiritiri Matangi Island bird sanctuary from the Gulf Harbour marina.
     
  • Facilities for aged and people with disability. Also able to accommodate large groups.
     
  • Linen can be supplied for the cabins and is supplied with the tourist flats.

  • On the beachfront at Martins Bay overlooking the Mahurangi Peninsula, boat cruising areas and the fishing grounds of Kawau Island.
     
  • Approx 15km from Warkworth just past Snells Beach village.
     
  • Activities include fishing, swimming, sailing and bush walks.
     
  • Facilities include children’s playground, covered BBQ area, boat/tractor park, boat ramp, fish cleaning area and holiday programmes. 
     
  • Facilities for the aged and people with disability.
     
  • Short drive to Sandspit for scenic trips to historical Kawau Island.
     
  • Accommodation includes 220 powered camp sites, three tourist cabins and two standard cabins.  
     
  • Off season and group discounts available.

Cabins are standard cabins and linen and blankets are not provided. Cabins include: double bed, double bunk, table and chairs and TV and a heater will be provided on request. Tourist flats are fully self contained.

Directions: Turn off State Highway 1 at Warkworth (right at the second traffic lights if travelling from the south or left at the first traffic lights if travelling from the north). Take the right-hand road to Snells Beach. Travel through Snells Beach village past the shopping centre. Continue past the turn off to Algies Bay on Mahurangi Road, continuing along Martins Bay Rd to the beach.

  • A family-orientated park situated 18km from Warkworth, right on the water’s edge overlooking Whangateau Harbour, across the harbour from Omaha.
     
  • Great base to visit the nearby Goat Island/Cape Rodney Marine Reserve (popular for diving and snorkelling), the Matakana Wine Trail and farmers markets.
     
  • Short drive to Sandspit for scenic trips to Kawau Island.
     
  • Facilities include a recreation room and covered BBQ area.
     
  • Activities include swimming, fishing, kayaking, sailing and native bird watching.
     
  • Adjacent to large open space reserve with sportsfield, playground, bush walk and high tide boat ramp.

  • Great location for a school camp, particularly for marine studies.
     

Directions: Turn off State Highway 1 at Warkworth (right at the second traffic lights if travelling from south, or left at the first traffic lights if travelling from the north). Take the left hand road to Leigh (Matakana Rd). Matakana Rd changes to Leigh Rd at Matakana. Continue along Leigh Rd until you get to Whangateau.
