The fees and charges for Resource Management functions, effective 1 July 2008, are set out below.

Exceptions
Applications for the cutting, removal or work within the drip line of a tree protected by the rules of the District Plan or Proposed District Plan excluding where that work is associated with another application for resource consent.
Applications to modify or change the use of a cultural heritage resource listed in the District Plan or Proposed District Plan excluding where that work is associated with another application for resource consent.
Applications which have received the prior written approval by Council to waiver or reduce permission fees under the “Reduction and Waiver of Permission Fees – Non Profit and Charitable Organisations” policy (see policy 90 [Chapter 1] Corporate Policy Manual).

Notes on resource consents and charges

1. The fees payable on lodgement as outlined above are initial fees only.  An assessment of the total fee will be made based on actual cost.  The initial fee is deducted from the actual cost to determine if there are any additional charges to pay.

2. Should additional fees apply you will be invoiced monthly and at the time of issuing a decision.  Additional fees will be required to be paid when invoiced to allow processing of an application to continue and prior to the issuing of a decision.

3. The initial fee includes administration, lodgement, records scanning, monitoring and other charges based on the hourly rates.  Photocopying will be charged per sheet.

4. Site monitoring is charged at $165 per site inspection.  A minimum of two inspections is included in the initial fee.  A higher monitoring cost may be applied for complex applications, calculated at the relevant charge out rate for the actual monitoring time undertaken plus any disbursements.  This may be in the form of a single charge, separate charges for each inspection or an annual charge where ongoing monitoring is required.  Actual and reasonable costs will be charged where follow up is required to obtain compliance.

5. All charges exclude development contributions.

6. The Council 'on charges' any boat charter costs that may be required for site inspections for Kawau Island and other locations where access is only possible by boat.

7. All external consultants and specialist services engaged will be invoiced at cost + 5%.

8. Unless listed, the fees and charges for other resource management functions remain unaltered.
