Helensville's Future In View |
|
The Strategy and Planning Directorate is working on a new Town Centre Master
Plan for Helensville. The current work is more an urban design
exercise than a town planning review in that it aims to create a three
dimensional vision for Helensville Town Centre. The Master Plan illustrates
options for:-
Changes to Commercial Road to make it more pedestrian friendly and create a village atmosphere.
Suggestions to link Creek Lane, Woolworths site and the car park area behind the Hall.
Concentrating retail in the section between Puriri Street & Porter Crescent to reinforce a village atmosphere.
Amendments to the District Plan to maintain the landscaping and heritage features in the area between Porter Crescent & Awaroa Road
Long term plans for the railway station area.
Improving the appearance of Mill Road and opportunities with the old Dairy Factory and a possible supermarket development.
Building on Helensville’s heritage features to make the town a visitor destination.
