Whangaparaoa Natural Areas

The intention of the Whangaparaoa Natural Areas Survey is to provide some basic information about the nature and range of natural areas that are present on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula.  This information will be used for informing broad policy decisions.

The survey was conducted in October 2006.

The Background and Recommendations report provides the context of the Whangaparaoa Natural Areas Survey. A number of recommendations were made in terms of measures that would result in enhanced protection for areas – including recommending areas suitable for reserve acquisition, vesting and covenanting, and District Plan changes.
